Fact: Mold can start to grow as quickly as 48HRS after intial flooding if proper steps are not taken to dry all wet contents and building materials.
Fact: The only way to prevent mold growth is to keep all building materials dry and to maintain indoor relative humidity levels between 30% and 45%.
Fact: Mold can grow in warm, moist environments but it can also grow in colder environments as well.
Fact: They optimum conditions under which mold can grow are: relative indoor humidity levels above 50%, with indoor temperatures above 75 degress F, presence organic ingredients, presence of moisture and darkness (lack of proper air exchange).
Fact: Dogs are the only tool available at present that can pinpoint mould growth in walls without opening up the walls unnecessarily.

A Qualified Remediation Contractor Should:
- Have $5,000,000 of liability insurance.
- Have up to date WSIB coverage.
- Be IICRC or IAQA certified mold remediators.
- Not use inexperienced day labour (casual labor) on their job sites.
- Have experience in remediating all types of projects (ie. residential, commercial, multi residential).
- Be willing and able to give you a good cross section of references.
